A Sunny, Hot, & Fun Boathouse Wedding | Erin & Erin

Laughter. Dancing. Sweat… Just a few words that would describe our time with Erin & Erin. Yes, they both have the same name and both have fantastic personalities to boot. These two were crazy fun to work with and made it so easy for us to capture their uniqueness in imagery. Their wedding was smack down in the middle of summer at the coast and was a HOT one, but no one complained a bit at this one. There was too much fun to be had as the temperature rose.

The day started out somewhat calm, but with lots of emotional and funny moments in between. The guys and gals both had separate rental houses in Beaufort to get ready in before heading over to the always wonderful Boathouse at Front Street Village. We bounced back and forth to capture everyone getting ready and these were some of my favorite images of the day as always. We get to be a fly on the wall and play around with different angles and capturing all of the fleeting moments leading up to the scramble before the ceremony.

Erin & Erin opted to do a first look on the dock. This crazy cool couple even had bottles of their own champagne made leading up to the wedding. They of course had to celebrate by popping one open for us after the first look as you see below. The sun was bright, and so was their spirit as their nerves settled and we took a few portraits of the wedding party and them before the ceremony started.

Ceremonies on the water at the Boathouse are always surrounded by onlookers and boaters as they pass by on the waterway. This can make for some interactions as everyone loves a good wedding. The sun was bright but allowed us to capture some really dramatic ceremony moments. The bride’s sister is hearing impaired and had her interpreter at the wedding and it was really neat to capture that aspect of the wedding story as well since you could tell that these two sisters had an amazingly tight bond. She even gave an emotional speech at the reception and there wasn’t a dry eye on the balcony.

Moving on after sunset portraits, the party got started quickly. The crowd was extremely lively and we had an absolute blast on the cramped porch of the Boathouse capturing some “in your face” action shots! The dancing is such a fun time to be a photographer as we always are ready for the hilarious shenanigans that are inevitable. The night was capped off with a bubble exit which is a favorite of ours as well….
