Same-Sex Engagement Session Emerald Isle, NC | Ray and Brian

PLANNING a same-sex ENGAGEMENT SESSION

From our first Skype session with Ray and Brian about their same-sex engagement session, we knew that they were our type of couple! We talked about our different NC Engagement Session Tips and possible locations. Ray and Brian have a love for the coast of NC. More specifically, our hometown of Emerald Isle, NC. Add in Ray and Brian’s downright adorable dog, lots of water splashing shenanigans and the we knew this same-sex engagement session was no doubt blog worthy!

When talking about engagement session, there is a lot of emotions that go into planning the perfect session. Where will your session be? When would you like your session? What will the weather be like for your session? This is where many of us stop, but can you imagine if you had to ask your favorite photographer, “Do you photograph same-sex couples?” This is ultimately how all of our couples inquiring about same-sex engagement sessions begin their e-mail to us. We can’t imagine feeling the need to ask such a question, and we think you shouldn’t have to ask either! We fall in love with all of our clients (we can’t help it… we have incredible clients!) no matter how their love is expressed. We can’t wait for Ray and Brian’s wedding next May in another one of our coastal faves, Atlantic Beach!

Ray and Brian’s same-sex ENGAGEMENT SESSION

We love incorporating the surroundings of every engagement session; the people, the activities, the weather, etc. Beach sessions are always a blast because you never quite know what you’re in for! From dive bombing seagulls and soaring kites, to crashing ocean waves, this session kept giving us all kinds of sun filled moments.

Ray and Brian kicked off their engagement session starting at the Bogue Pier in Emerald Isle, NC. We had plenty of sun at the Bogue Pier at the start of our session. Typically we try and aim more towards mid-golden hour up until the last few moments after the sun has finally set for engagement sessions. We knew we wanted to make a splash for this session and jump in! So we buffered in plenty of time to change and get cleaned up between the two locations. You would think that more couples would be willing to go the extra mile and jump in the water. This isn’t always the case. But boy did Ray and Brian deliver! They unexpectedly jumped in the water at BOTH of the locations they chose! Boy did this make for some awesome photos!

We ended our session at The Point in Emerald Isle. We have been gifted some of the best sunsets from nature at The Point. We finally got to have some puppy fun with Ray and Brian’s dog at The Point also. This dog was a fetch master y’all!

* Free Session Tip *

Do you and your fiance feel as though you’re going to be nervous on your session? Have a dog? BRING THE DOG! Dog’s are a great way to break any stress you may feel during your session. Believe us, dogs always make us laugh!

Ray and Brian, we had the best time getting to know you and photographing your love! We are thrilled that you chose us to be your photographers and can’t wait to capture all your wedding day moments in May!
